This is a very heavy surveying prismatic compass made of solid brass coated with a black gunmetal finish. It has a sighting arm & a prismatic viewing to see the detail readings on the compass ring.
The compass fits into its beautiful original leather case which also has matching markings.
This compass was essential to the army surveyors when surveying the land & mapping the terrain.
Diameter of compass 4" or 10 cm.
Weight 1.8 kgs when packed.
