Rare Antique Original British Forces circa 1928 Surveying Clinometer Compass in a Original Leather Case & Wooden Presentation Box with a custom made brass plaque with the engraved details of the compass.
Dated 1928 this early 20th century Handle Clinometer Surveying Compass was made by C BARKER of LONDON, ENGLAND.

The blackened brass compass has a needle that pivots on a gemstone bearing above a decorative dial with a 360 degree scale, and 16 inter cardinal points.
It was mainly used by British Forces surveyors & geologists, it also incorporates a pendulous arm for measuring rise & fall of angles.
Measures 75mm in diameter, it's in full working order including the transit lock which is activated by a brass knob on the side, and comes in a original leather waist pouch for protection.( stamped with the C100 series no & MID arrow).
Considering that the compass and its leather case are 93 years old, they are in wonderful condition.
It comes in a wooden presentation box with a custom made brass plaque with the engraved details of the compass. ( see picture)
Weighs around 600 grams.
