Rare Original Antique Green 2nd World War US Army Officers M-1938 Marching Compass in a wooden box.
This compass was used by officers and technical staff, and was not issued in large numbers to enlisted men.
This unusual compass is liquid damped and has a small sprit level in the cover. Readings can be taken through the site by inserting your thumb in the ring & putting your eye up to the sight.
The original card on the base still has the scale clearly marked even after 80 years.
Made in the USA stamped on the dial
Markings on the top say:
LENSATIC COMPASS US NO 13622
This compass would make a wonderful gift for a US Army veteran or graduation gift.
Comes in wooden presentation box with a brass custom made plaque inscribed with all the details of the compass.
