Antique 2nd World War British RAF 1940's 2nd Airborne Wrist Paratrooper Navigator Compass
This rare very collectable black bakelite 2" compass made by Francis Barker of London. This compass was issued to the British RAF Paratrooper Regiment during World War 2 in the 1940's. Worn on the wrist , the compass with turning bezel in the centre. This can be moved to point the arrow on the dial in the direction the paratrooper wants to follow.
It's in wonderful condition with the original khaki strap considering it's 80 years old. End to end the strap extends 22 inches.
Diameter 3.5 cm & 1.5 cm thick.
The base of the compass has the markings:
Serial No 6B / 2598
It comes in a wooden presentation box and has a custom made brass plaque with all the details of the compass.
