Antique 2nd World War British RAF 1940's 2nd Airborne Wrist Paratrooper Navigator Compass

This rare very collectable black bakelite 2" compass made by Francis Barker of London. This compass was issued to the British RAF Paratrooper Regiment during World War 2 in the 1940's. Worn on the wrist , the compass with turning bezel in the centre. This can be moved to point the arrow on the dial in the direction the paratrooper wants to follow. 

The cover prises open and has a mirror inside , which was used to attract attention if the soldier was lost.

It's in wonderful condition with the original khaki strap considering it's 80 years old. End to end the strap extends around 30 inches, sometimes this compass was also worn on the arm or around the ankle.

Diameter 3.5 cm & 1.5 cm thick.

It comes in a wooden presentation box and has a custom made brass plaque with all the details of the compass.
