Rare Antique 1950's Red Coated Swiss Bakelite Wall Telephone

This telephone was made in the 1950 by  WEIDMANN of SWITZERLAND . Like any excellent Swiss engineered product, it a has beautifully crafted internal mechanism. Please see the picture below for the original factory marks on the base.

The body in excellent condition. The internal bells have a beautiful loud ringing sound. The unusual shape makes this phone very collectable. 

The bakelite phone has been recoated professionally with high quality hard wearing red enamelled paint similar to what is used in car body workshops. The enamelling  workmanship is absolutely fantastic , the pictures don't do it justice.  

This unusually shaped telephone was made in Switzerland around 1950s. It is in excellent condition and has a wonderful old ring for incoming calls.

 Please note that this is an original phone is 70/80 years old and will have some wear and tear.

All our antique telephones are fully stripped down, polished & rewired with hand platted cords in our workshop near Oxford , England. The phones have all original fittings inside and we try to keep all the original parts wherever possible. They come fitted with a standard British connection & all International customers ( USA, Europe, Asia Etc) will be provided with a RJ11 adapter, so the customer can use the phone on any fixed analogue telephone landline.
